Mary MacKillop Place
Mary MacKillop Place, in North Sydney, the resting place of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop is a pilgrimage site for all Year 7 students when they begin at MMCC.
Each student visit the museum, learning about the humble beginnings in which the order founded by Mary MacKillop began. Students also have the opportunity to visit the Chapel at Mary MacKillop Place, sitting around Mary’s tomb offering prayers for their family, friends, our world and for success for their future.
Each year the newly elected Senior Leaders also visit Mary MacKillop Place as part of their leadership formation. Staying overnight and working with members of the Sisters of St Joseph of the Sacred Heart, they come to learn what it means to lead a community following in the footsteps of Mary MacKillop.
The MMCC Choir is invited annually to take part in Masses at Mary MacKillop Place, including the Mass for the feast day of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop.
