Knitting is one of the best ways to bring women and families together. We welcome dad’s, granddads and brothers who knit also – especially considering that the first people to ever knit were men! It is a wonderful way to build relationships with your daughters, their friends, your family and a great opportunity to take some time out of your busy day and relax. Knitting is a skill that that is not only productive but also very therapeutic and we encourage all girls to be involved. We need as many enthusiastic knitters as possible.
We are aiming to make as many blankets as possible again this year and to donate them to those in need in nursing homes and hospitals.
We are knitting SQUARES, which will be joined together to form beautiful, coloured blankets. The squares are 30 stitches by 30 rows. The squares are joined together by our wonderful Mrs Josie Canal and her fabulous mum whom knit and crotchet like a super machine! We then donate the blankets to local nursing homes.
Even if you can’t knit and you have no time to learn, we would appreciate donations of wool (8 Ply), knitting needles (Size 4), and most importantly of all, your VOCAL encouragement for our cause.
Please also pray for the people in the nursing homes who will receive these blankets. We want them to know that God loves them, and we love them too.
The Knitting Club meets on Tuesday Lunchtime in Computer Room 2.
