Mary MacKillop Catholic College sets the standard in school sporting prowess. Every year, in numerous sports and activities, our students achieve truly outstanding results while conducting themselves with grace and fairness.
Sport provides the opportunity to develop holistic students. Our internal sports program offers the students a wide variety of opportunities that they would not be provided anywhere else in their lives. Regardless of whether a student has experience in a sport, our students are provided with various opportunities to participate in activities that challenge them to be the best that they can be.
Every student participates in Thursday afternoon sporting sessions that provide physical, spiritual, emotional, mental and social development. The College believes it is important to introduce students to both individual and team participation in order to develop important life skills, such as dedication, teamwork and respectfulness.
Students in Year 7-8 participate in a House Sport programme that offers the students a chance to participate in traditional sporting activities such as Netball, Basketball, Soccer and Softball. The rest of the College is provided a chance to participate in a wider range of activities such as Gym, Bowling, Tennis, Aerobics and Swimming.
Students are also offered the chance to represent The College in a range of representative sports, that can be viewed on the sporting programmes component of the website.
Representative sport has played a large part in the history of Mary MacKillop Catholic College. Sport provides our girls a sense of belonging and identity, as well a driving force in their lives. The lessons that are learnt on the sporting field such as discipline and dedication can be transferred into the classroom.
