The study of Human Society and its Environment (HSIE) teaches us how to think critically and creatively, to reason and ask questions. Learning about humanities through the study of History, Geography, Legal Studies, Business Studies, Economics or Society and Culture helps students make better sense of the world and their place in it.
In HSIE students will develop a range of skills, including research, analysis, problem solving, decision-making, critical thinking and communication. These skills enhance student’s confidence and ability to participate effectively in society.
Through the study of HSIE students learn about social justice, intercultural understanding, ecological sustainability, democratic processes, global perspectives, beliefs and moral codes in order to develop into enlightened and socially aware citizens.
